I would like to try some BP loads in a Open Top.
I have a lot of smokeless bullets already lubed is the reason I am asking.

So can one take a smokeless pre lube boolit, or one with Lee Alox or a un lubed boolit? Loaded it in the case, then put Crisco or some other BP lube? Like a Cap and Ball and it will work ok?

hawkeye2 is correct.
Discussing cartridge guns is not permitted on the forum but if we are speaking of the open top Colts that are designed for loading cap & balls then we can go ahead with the discussion.

Loading modern lead bullets into a Cap & Ball gun is usually difficult because the bullet must be an interference fit with the chamber.

As it is pressed into the chamber mouth, lead will be sheared off of the bullets outside diameter. This makes for a tight, flame resistant condition.

The problem is most if not all modern lead bullets are made of hardened lead.
The hard lead resists the shearing that occurs during loading and can actually cause the loading ram and lever to break.

Adding to the difficulty, the bullet must be centered with the chamber before it is rammed in place. Modern lead bullets have nothing to line them up with the chamber.

The original lead bullets that were loaded into these C&B guns had a undersize "heel" on them that would slide into the chambers mouth automatically aligning them with the chamber.
