T 7 is cleaner than pyrodex but shoot up to that can that you have. Barristal is great for cleaning.

Welcome from France. I can't really add to what others have said here, except to say that I took my own (Pietta) Remington, cleaned off all the surface grease and ran some cotton patches through the barrel and chambers. After that I took it straight out to shoot. I would NOT advise disassembling this gun until you are more familiar with it and have watched a few more You Tube vids. It will shoot just fine as it is.

I got a pound of pryodex but thought I would try the real stuff first, but if it can't be had then I guess we go with then imitation. I will try triple 7 next.

I been shooting my TC Hawken rifle since early 70s. Then took a few decades off to raise a family. Now back into BP pistols and using T7. Man, I wish I had this back in the day. I will never get real BP again. T7 all the way.
