Last summer it looked OK with Never Dull but sat all winter in the carriage house uncovered. Now dull and some light corrosion. Not sure about brass or bronze. Pretty sure brass.

I can't get my brass cannon barrel to shine the way I think it should. Any suggestions?
I clean my Brass and copper items with vinegar. It will get your items clean fast but you need to rinse it off real good and buff it till you get the shine you are looking for. There are many products that will help you while buffing. Once you have done this spray the item with Laquer to maintain the shine.

To erase a whole winter of neglect?
Sorry, you are obviously going to need many cans.

Best for me is Solvol Autosol
I once used a brass cleaner that was acidic, andit took ages to restore the proper colour after that.
I don't like laquer either, as it looks a dirty colour.
The Autosol comes in a tube like toothpaste and does a lovely job of cleaning brass or copper or steel.

When it is finally polished the way you want it, try two coats of one of the new ceramic coating car polishes. Water won't stick to it.
