Searching for a brass rear sight, as found on some of Clay Smith's smoothbore guns. He is outa stock, and chances for more are slim. I am (hopefully) headed to a friends place in Alaska for Black bear late June. I had a nice Fusil with one and it was perfect for deer, hogs and bear. Anyone have one, know how to make one, or a possible source?

I had one from Clay Smith, It had a wide V and the sides of the v almost started to roll over. It also had a finial on the front which sat upon the barrel. Never measured it.

Here is one that Track sells:

They call it a "fancy Jaeger" type sight, but if you wanted it a bit plainer like Clay's some careful filing would do the trick. I am having Dale Nincehelser put this sight on an English Sporting Rifle he is building for me.

That brass sight is cool but not much like the winged brass sights found on some type G or “Carolina” trade guns. On all rifle sights the vertical portion is thin where the notch is. The type G brass sight has a valley at least half an inch long as the “V”.
