breach plug

I have a 50 caliber barrel iam putting a new breach plug in. Is 5/8 by 18 threads a inch ok. Or should there be more threads to the inch. And how long should the plug be. Also what diameter should I bore the barrel too so that a 5/8x18 tap can be used on it. Does 37/64 sound right??
