Can anyone tell me if these folks made their own locks? And if replacement locks/parts are available? I have an opportunity to pick one up pretty cheap, but the lock has been damaged. It's a .45 with a 33" barrel. The rest of the gun is in pretty good condition. The date code says XX8 (1972). This could be a great project gun, with a little refinishing maybe a really good shooter.

That sounds very similar to the old "Kentuckian" that was sold by EAA in the 70s; other makers made similar guns.

Check for the line of "RPL" (replacement) locks as Sold by L&R Lock Company (click for link) as the "Model 01 Percussion" might work for yours.

The Track Of The Wolf website and catalog have full-size images of the locks, so you can compare sizes and shapes of the lock plates.

Good luck.
