Was looking at pictures of Brown Bess copies. I will say up front that I do not know a lot on the subject. In any event, the lock is marked "GRICE 1762" with GR Crown. Any idea who made it? will post in Smoothbore as well.

Those sound like replicas of original markings to me. I've never seen a copy of one before, though I did handle an original once. Someone here will probably be able to help you as the Brown Bess was a pretty popular gun in it's time. There is lots of lore about it. You might want to post a few pictures of the lock and any markings that it has anywhere.

So this is the flintlock rifle forum section, but it's a musket..., unless it has an after-market rifled barrel and the builder used a Pedersoli lock. Let's discuss this on the mirror thread in Smoothbores. Thanks
