Was looking at pictures of Brown Bess copies. I will say up front that I do not know a lot on the subject. In any event, the lock is marked "GRICE 1762" with GR Crown. Any idea who made it? Will post in Flintlock as well.
 
If it's marked "Grice" then the lock is Pedersoli.
IF the barrel doesn't read "Pedersoli" and have the serial number and the proof marks from Italy, then it's possible the barrel is not Italian, but more likely some dolt "defarbed" the piece while not understanding what he was doing.
