Greetings All,
I purchased an Indian Charleville and wish to brown the barrel and furniture to reduce maintainability (polishing). The trigger and guard assembly is staked to the stock which eliminates any process that requires heat. Any information on cold browning will be most appreciated. I weary of polishing.
Thanks

Larry

They are just pinned to the stock...you should be able to drive the pins out easily enough with a pin punch.

For a stock pin removal tool I put a small finish nain in a short piece of dowei. Then cut the head off smoothed over the end with a file and put a leather washer on it . You just need to push the pin out far enough to grab the end with pliers. I also put a leather washer on the pin. Becuz if anyone would ding the stock with pliers it would be me lol. :stir:

A broken drill bit of the proper size with the broken end rammed in the dowel and the flat used as a drift pin is a variation on the suggestion above.
