Browning mountain rifle

can anybody confirm or dash the idea that some of the "Browning Mountain Rifles" came in flintlock?

Not saying they didn't make them, but I never saw one in flint.

I remember seeing many an add in the magazines back then, but never one for a flintlock. Looking in all my gun value books the percussion is listed, but no flintlock.

Never saw a single one nor have I ever heard of one. All had the cute rams horn design machined into the drum.

I have a subscription to Track Of The Wolf's archives. I've seen hundreds that were sold through them and not a one in flintlock. I think it is safe to say if the Browning Mountain Rifle came in flintlock it would have crossed paths with TOW sooner or later. Tow must have listed over 200 BMR over the years and never a one in flintlock. Respectfully, cowboys1062.

I have seen several and held a few, but none were flintlocks. They were well made, fit and finish was excellent but they seemed heavy.......Robin :wink:
