Yes, you can post a picture of it, not a problem...

The ball-et is an interesting projectile, loads like a bullet, shoots like a roundball...

I would try them if they made them in .75 caliber...

i have shot a few out of a cva mountain rifle in .45cal and they are extremly accurate in it,

Cant get em in a .530 either.

That is an easy fix, you can make your own solid base ball-et style bullet in your desired caliber by drilling out an old bullet mold...

You end up with something that looks like this...

Then roll them under a rasp file to knurled the side to accept the lube and you are all set...

The rasp will enlarge the diameter a bit, so you'll want to drill the mold smaller than what you need...

Thanks guys,I will order my ball-etts from you.I am surprized at the info on pouring my own.I tried to download a picture over in percusson, but it didnt work.I will have to work on it.Squib

The problem I have is that tight bored Santa FE Hawken. It is a .53 instead of a .54.

I may have Lee make me a .530 sizing die, and then push some .570 balls thru it. Could hollow the bases that way too.

A 17/32 bit would about bore out a mold about right.

I used them in both a 1-48" and a 1-60" twist barrels. They were accurate enough out of both barrels, maybe a bit better in the 1-60", but i didn't like the way they performed on deer. I prefer a round ball. And the rd balls are chaeper too.

Bountyhunter, I'm not sure but you may be asking too much of a re-sizing die, that's a big change. I think a lot of times a re-sizing die only works a few thousands of an inch, say .526 from .530. I could be wrong but check it out.

Bountyhunter, I didn't get your post, you are talking round balls and making them "ballette" of a sort- could work. Let us know if it does.

musket man what would the proper drill size for a .40cal :hmm: be to drill out a mold?and about how deep would you go?

What are the grooves dimensions of your gun (groove to groove), you need to go at least to that, muzzleloading bullets are slightly engraved by the rifling to ensure a proper seal on the way out when the bullet expands and fills the grooves...

As for how deep to drill the mold, I would say to at least half way along the arc of the ball's circumference...

Drill slightly short of your mark and check, you can re-drill deeper if needed, it's always easier to remove metal than it is to add metal...
