I want to lube some REAL bullets and wanted to make my own lube. I remember seeing it on here but could not find it in a search. I got some beeswax from a friend and I need to know what else to add to it. I thought about melting this in an old pot and dipping the bullets in. Anyone try anything like that? How would you dip them in and back out? I would think that dipping them like they used to do to make candles would allow you to get the desired lube thickness.

I use 50/50 beeswax & crisco woks fine. Pour it into a pie tin & bake at low temp for 15 mins let cool pop the bullets out & store in a tin go look at this sight, Link good information

Heres the way I use to do max-balls. Put maxis in freezer, let get cold. Heat beeswax in mic-wave, put cold maxis in warm beeswax with a fork. If the maxis are not cold they don't get very much wax on them. Cold ones get a heavier coat. If real cold out keep close to body so the wax don't get to brittle. Makes for a fast quick load. Not messy like the old max-lube. Dilly

I have used Lee's Liquid Alox on cast bullets for my 92 Rossi Puma with no ill effect. Quick, easy and very effective. I think he recommends using it on his REAL bullets also. Nor is it messy like the various oil and wax combo.

Also very cheap!

I use 50-50 toilet ring wax and boot dreesing to lube the REAL slugs I cast. melt them together and stir good, dip cold slugs in with needle nose pliers. works good, I use overpowder felt.

I use this stuff. http://www.lsstuff.com/lube/index.html
The one I use is called BPCR Supreme. I have been testing this stuff with my 475 gr Whitworth bullets and my 405 gr HB Lee bullets in my 45. This is great lube and not messy at all. He gave me a sample and I tried it and liked it. Ron
