On the spur of the moment, I decided to take a ride over to Bushy Run Battlefield State Park yesterday for the reenactment and 246th anniversary of the battle. Since the Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society has begun a capital campaign to insure ther future of the site in the absence of state funding, It was gratifying to see a great turnout from the public yesterday. I can only assume that today is as well attended. The native American reenactors, as well as reenactors from the 60th, 42nd, and 77th were all well represented in numbers and did an outstanding job of providing two reenactments each day to illustrate the different phases of the historical engagement. I didn't get to take any pictures, but, the tacticals and the British encampment were great. There were also plenty of sutlers on hand, so I managed to bring home a much needed new set of breeches. Also, a couple of good books from the museum book store. All in all, a great day, and I will definitely be adding my support by joining their society as an out of town dues paying member. If you google their site, even though the annual battle reenactment is over, there are still some events planned for the year.

I want to thank everybody that turned out to support the Society and the Battle Reenactment last weekend. It was one of our best attended events and the weather could not have been better. In the next few weeks the Society will take responsibility for the site from the State. This is a monumentous effort but I'm sure they can get it done. Thanks,

GBJ
