Somewhere in one of the forums, I read a statement from a guy in Virginia that had to "drive for an hour or more to Winchester" to get his black powder. Does anyone know who this was??? I would also like to know, of those of you in Va, how far do you have to drive to find your powder? Maybe a bulk buy could be in the making or something if we are all close enough

I'm in SW Virginia. I gave up on buying BP locally and ordered directly. I'm set for the next year or two, but then I'll need to reorder.

The poster you refered to is RedFeather. Here is a link to that discussion. http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/201987/

Thanks Rebel. Thats the one I was looking for. Luckly, I found some here locally for $14.99 a lb.

Bob Moates gunshop on Hull St. Road is the only source of real black powder that I know of in central Va. I am torn between ordering 25#s & saving $ in the long run vs supporting the local shop & hoping that he keeps stocking bp. It will be hard to get anyone started in the hobby when it gets to the point that you have to spend hundreds on a bulk order just to see if you like it.
