Does anyone know if C&D Jaranagin, makers of period historical clothing, is still in business? Sent them an email called their biz number but got no response.
Thanks, LP

Sorry. Hadn't heard of them. So many of these small businesses have disappeared.

I recently tried to open a bunch of bookmarked websites for similar companies and most of them were gone.

Okay. I did a little Googling, including Google maps. Google maps will show a business's hours and if they are open at the current time of your search,,,, also for some businesses it will list the business as "permanently closed" if it has closed recently.

At this moment (Monday 01-06-25 @ 10:36 EST) they are listed as "open" and closing at 16:30

The peak of interest in early America has passed some years ago. The younger people generally have little or no interest in such things, and those of us who grew up watching Daniel Boone and Davy Crocket and saw them as heroes are rapidly dying or otherwise aging out.
The young folks (to the degree that they think about them at all) are more likely to see our founding fathers and early settlers as villains than as resourceful men.

Lone Pine, thanks for the update. They had done Civil War clothing for years. In the past few years they have branched out to Revolutionary War clothing. Some of my Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) compatriots have gotten some really quality stuff from them. If they don't answer the phone or respond to emails immediately, it is probably because they are so busy! With eight years of activities, re-enactments, and celebrations in the works for our 250th anniversary coming up, all suppliers (clothing, equipment, and guns) are all busy trying to keep up. And believe it or not they are suppling those "YOUNG FOLKS" that smoothshooter is referring to. Most of us "older folks" have our stuff unless they are crossing over from Civil War to Rev War. DY

Comer -"Lots of young guys coming into Civil War reenacting too for the last few years."
good to hear. I just ordered a u.s. mounted rifles jacket from them.
I'm just now dabbling in u.s. mounted rifles. I'm shamelessly posting off topic and soliciting any info from anyone here who has resource material for this unit.
