Y'all know I like the early stuff. This is a neat transition piece with an early style lock and newer style hardware. You first start seeing the triangular style side plate in the 1690s. The lock is right about that period but with an earlier style cock. You can tell the earlier ones because the top part of the S shape goes back further, kinda a squished looking S. For this one the ramrod thimbles are the more modern style no longer ribbed. Barrel is cut down some but not a lot. It is a little over 8" with a decent bore for a 300+ year old iron barrel. Could use cleaning but no reason it can't be used. I'd guess it's about .54 caliber. Looks like 9/16". Good early style barrel with narrow, straight tang. Given early and later features I would date this between about 1695 and 1720. $650 obo plus shipping from 24426. PayPal preferred. I will also accept Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, check or money order
