State and local laws vary to a large degree. If your safely storing 5 or 10 lbs. it's probably not a big deal.
In New York, unless your a dealer, 50 lbs. would gather the attention of the N.Y.S. Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Who would need 50lbs. of an explosive?
Unless it's banned to be stored in your area I wouldn't be worried about a couple of pounds.
It seems that legitimate muzzle loaders aren't sought out by Law Enforcement for random black powder raids. I've never heard of one.
Common sense prevails with anything. Idiots will attract attention to themselves.
Your local Fire Marshal should be able to tell you.
I wouldn't call him and ask him in a Middle Eastern accent if you can keep 50lbs. of the stuff. :rotf:
I myself couldn't shoot 25 lbs. in a year and I'm a heavy shooter! So buy what you might shoot in a year.

Hey Juice, that's 5 pounds each, if there's five of you. A case is 25 Lbs. I would contact www.powderinc.com They can give you all the info you want about what's applicable in Kalifornia. You can mix and match, but if you just get GOEX it'll only be about $11 a pound or less total. After ya visit the site give him a call direct, and he'll set you up.

Bill

I started with nothing, and still have most of it left!

I read on one of the state's sites that we are allowed only 5 pounds here in California. That's all I'm copping to :rotf: .

In New York State, the limit is 5 Pounds without a license
