Every time I pass by the bargin cave at my local cabela's they've got a pile of hawkin kit's.

They any good,... guess I shouldn't be so lazy and pull one apart to look at it.

However I doubt they're gonna let me shoot on in the store with all the women's and chillen' around. Any of ya fellers shoot one of them cabela's hawken jobs.

The Cabela's Hawkens I believe is made by Interarms, that's the same outfit that makes Lyman the only difference is 1 in 48 twist.

While you were in the bargain cave did you happen to notice if they still had that 50 caliber percussion Hatfield? (I take it that you went to the Kansas City KS store)

Gun Test magazine tested Cabella's Hawken a couple of years ago. Rated it a (buy) especially for the price. btw, they rated the 1803 Harpers Ferry ($800).. a don't buy, because gunsmithing work must be done to make it shoot reliablly. Don
