Is there a better rear sight that I can install on a Cabela's Hawken? I really would like something more Traditional but the original adjustable sight is threaded in the barrel.

I have seen a fixed sight made for TC Hawken that I was told will fit, don't know if it is still available. Best thing might be to cut a dovetail for a more traditional sight. I have been planning on doing this but haven't gotten around to it.

If you are getting up in years your eyes may change. So if you change the sight keep that in mind and think about moving a dove tail out the barrel further if you go that route. Hope your eyes stay good but some of us have a tough time with some sights as we age. Larry Wv

I installed a T/C hunter peep on mine. You have to drill one hole in the tang. It makes for a nice long sight radius and looks ok. Not p/c but better than the one that it came with. Then just plug the holes with a short set screw, and put a drop of cold blue on the heads.

Hear ( I hope) is a picture of the sight I mounted on my cabello's Hawkin and the mounting plate that screws right into the factory holes.

Wow I got it the first time. As you can see the bar that holds the sight screws into the origional holes and the sight itself fits a dovetail in the bar. I have an extra mounting plate if you are interested as well as the rear sights. If interested drop me a p.m.

Well I didn't find a Traditional sight but I did fix the problem.I have a old pitted TC Hawken barrel(no Blackpowder warning)and I was looking at the rear sight on it and I thought...."Dang that looks like it would fit".

It was a perfect fit. Much less wobble and a little higher sight which is good because the Cabela's sight was about maxed out on height.

Now all I need to do is get her sighted back in and loose my little flinch I have and I'm ready for Deer season which is only 8 months away. :v:
