Nice clean job on the mounting Frank. That looks like one of the older 57's based on some details, and without going downstairs and digging out one of my newer ones, somehow it looks a little less bulky that my newer ones. I'll have to grab one for comparison next time I think of it.

All that aside, I mostly chimed in to compliment you on the wood finish on your rifle. Sure doesn't look factory! If it is, congrats on a great buy. If it's your own refinish, hats off! :hatsoff:

Knight owned GM barrels for a while. Maybe the Monkey threading the breech plugs at GM got to make some nipples for Knight too???

wow, i think i've been hit with the mislabel/mispackaged-gremlins...

laziness paid off, i didn't toss out the monday trash & managed to find the knight nipple package, it does say .75mm (even says red, but the nipple ain't red - i wonder if its stainless too)

the 1st shop only had regular #11 caps so i got them. since the didn't work well, i went to a different shop & got the magnum #11 caps. take a real close look at the caps - funny the regular #11's show cci 10, the magnums show cci 11m

replacement lyman trade rifle .75mm nipples arrived today. since i have 4 of them now, i took the original nipple to the dremel & filed it down so the #11 caps could fit.

it pops the cap on the 1st hammer strike (not like before where it would take a 2nd strike).

the #11 magnum caps always pop on the 1st hammer strike no matter if i use the original nipple or the modified dremel nipple. they seem to fit much better.
