Camp Fair

Some may have seen my new shop build on gun building but I havent built a new gun yet. Getting ready for RMNR and my father and 8 year old daughter are coming. We are going to "comfort camp" this year. Usually I just do a diamond fly and what I can carry. Well I been busy in the new shop and here is what Ive put out so far.

Didn't build the tent, but did all the repairs on the old girl in there.


Needed a camp kitchen to eliminate all the clutter.



Had to have a table for it.




And the young lady needed a trunk for her Stuff




Want my girl to have a great time and want to go back to the Rondys. She starts shooting BP this year. Anyhow, shops not finished yet but getting used big time. Lots of filling, plugging, sanding and finishing yet to do.

Thanks all. I got the plans from Panther Primitives. I believe they have a bunch of plans on page 78 of their catalog. I got the table, trunk and kitchen. The plans come with various styles and sizes in each plan envelope.

Naw. Just need a trailer.

However, I don't think that you'll do many overnight camps, particularly as you get older. The body needs time to recharge between ordeals.

Yep! you have to keep it fun for the young ones. They are our future. With out them ,who will pound our tent stakes? :idunno: I started with two boys and carried everything in a fairmount for a weekend . By the time rendezvous were at their peak I had a base camp for eight buckskinners . Now I have a trailer load of "junk" for myself and the grandson! :hmm:

I just bought a 8x10 enclosed trailer to haul hunting camp stuff with. I have a modern wall tent and all the gear stoves, for that fiasco. Ill use it to go to RMNR and haul all this. Ill keep it comfortable for my daughter for a bit and ease her into the primitive. It wont be to hard to transition her as she is happy with a blanket and dad being there. But this is a long one, during Monsoon season. Ill take the primitive wall tent and pack for a dignitary hunting trip circa pre 1840

Good for you, :bow: if we don't get the young ones involved this, it all dies out with us! If it takes a little comfort for them. Then so be it! If they don't have a good time they won't be back!
