Hey guys, I am brand new to traditional muzzle loading, and brand new to the forum.

I have been SCOURING the interweb, trying to find a Pedersoli (even a Taylor’s branded) Frontier Maple Deluxe .54 Flintlock.
Apparently this rifle is unobtainium! After deep digging, I got in touch with the Italian Firearms Group (IFG) who does the majority of Pedersoli’s importing. They told me I could order the rifle, but looking at 15+ months!

I know I could go custom, and have spoken to several fine gun makers, but as you all know, similar or longer lead times, and significantly more money.

I have found the Pedersoli rifle in .50 cal….but was REALLY wanting the .54, as I plan to hunt elk sized animals, including some exotics, and had hoped to play around with the challenge of long range flintlock target shooting.

Anyone have any leads on where I could POSSIBLY find the rifle?? A note* I have searched preowned classifieds nearly everywhere.
Was hoping one of you would know a dealer/gun shop that may have one on a shelf, somewhere in the free world.
If you decide on Pedersoli, I placed my order in July, and it showed up in September, they told me the same lead time. You know they put out decent stuff.

I would not buy from them. Unless I knew the builder personally. All Sitting Fox does is locate parts for the kit. Farm the parts out to whoever. Then charge you for there service. Exactly what you can do.
When I receive my refund balance, that's what I'll do too. Lesson learned. 😑

I wish I'd known....😑
Wish I'd known too...but I wanted something specific, with covid and shortages and whatever at the time I couldn't find a plain Bucks County gun and he said he could get it. Lessons learned to just be more patient on my part...and I didn't think to ask a community like this about a specific vendor before buying, another lesson learned.

If any of you are in the Kalamazoo Michigan area in March. Attend the Kalamazoo Living History show. Sitting Fox will have a display there. The show is around the middle of March. You can talk to him face to face. Bring your lawyer friend !

Call Kibler ,he has everything you want ,I like his Wood s Runner in 54 ,a child could assemble it/4hrours and you can shoot it ! And resale is exceptional ,Beats Pedersoli all day long and available so you get to use it this year(2024). And not for nothing you control the quality control ,, if you cant spare a Sunday assembly your probably not going to be shooting much either /just sayin/Ed
