I picked up a flintlock pistol for a hundred bucks at a flea market. It's only markings are as follows: "BLACK POWDER ONLY" ULTRA-HI
The other side of the barrel reads:
JAPAN FP 2157
I'm aware that ULTRA-HI was manufactured by Miroku in the mid seventies, but that's about all I could find out about them. I'm also pretty sure I paid way too much for it, but I had to have it!
Does anyone know any more about them?

Captain:

Had one, converted it as a rebuild project, which turned out nice, but the touchhole is cross drilled at about 45 degrees up into and through the screw in breech, making for a 1/2 trip for the flame to get through to the main powder charge.

Meaning a long whoosh then a bang. Not a lot of fun to shoot as it mis-fires a lot. Wanted to recut it with a new touch hole, but could not with the design of the breech.

Well thanks for the input. Should i put it in the bathroom for decoration, or at least try to fire it? I like the smoke and bang, not too worried about hunting or target shooting.
Also, i was told it was a .36 caliber... sounds kinda weird. Is this right?
