I was skeptical as well but after investigating I had my eyes opened..... :shocked2:
Besides the old makers swore by tallow as being the best treatment of all for good leather and tallow is nothing more nor less than rendered fat from various critters - my favorite is bear, but pure hod lard is a close second - when well rendered it won't go rancid even in warm weather...
