Cannon And Carriage I Picked Up

I have vented or the barrel, and will fire it tomorrow. I have a club member who will help me get this into the truck.
A couple of the club members are very well versed in regards to safely firing this, just to make some noise. I will take some pics to share

Just had to grab this cannon and carriage. The barrel is 4' iron, and heavy. Luckily my back didn't give out getting it unloaded. The carriage is made of solid oak. I plan on sleaving it, if it isn't already.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated

Yes to be shot, an iron barrel must always be sleeved with high pressure steel liner and a threaded breech plug. Even in their day iron cannons blew up, think as a hand grenade. Be it the first shot but always the last shot, iron cannons do blow up. Recommend a barrel manufacture like South Bend to install the liner. Have fun, but do line it if planning on firing it.
