I saw 12 pound shot at a gun show recently. It looked like an explosive type that had never (of course) been fired. Seller clained it was CW, which I have no reason to doubt.
He wanted $275.00 for it.
I have never paid more than $15.00 for a cannon ball but never bought one this large. And most especially never an explosive one still ready to go boom.
I offered $20.00 which he declined graciously.
Wadda y'all think is a fair price?

The price of $275.00 is normal for any CW artilley shell, thats average for a 12 lb ball.
Some go for $1000.00 depending on who made it and where it was recovered. A good source for priceing/buying CW stuff is "The Horse Soldier" in Gettysburgh.

Thanks. I'm not that interested. Plus, this one looks like it still might be 'hot'. Don't want it in the house. And, not sure how if it would be legal to have. Wouldn't it be an "explosive device" under ATF regs.?

Thats what I was thinking thought all that stuff had to be "safe" before they could sell it

This was a private party at a gun show. Not worth the risk. I have a close friend who was convicted by the Feds because the law "presumed" he had knowledge of something.
