My better half had some printed canvas and I wanted a small bag for my pistols. Dont know if canvas bags were used. All I have seen are leather. Well, trying to save a few bucks, I decided to use it. This is just the start. If this is wrong, or doesnt belong here, sorry guys. Just had to ask about it and show what I have done so far.

I wouldn't toss it in the fire.

My saying 'methinks' gets me in a lot of trouble.
But, again, methinks folks used what they had. Canvas very well may have been used out of necessity or creative endeavors.
Carry on.

flintrock, the bag looks fine, and I myself have used canvas for a belt pouch as well.

About the only comment I might make is that the "printed" canvas may not be right for the period. If thats what your asking! if not then it should serve you well! :hatsoff:

Not a very good stitcher, but here is what I have now. Let the back of the flap run down far enough to give me a small inside pocket for caps and such. Next thing is to decide if I want belt loops or shoulder strap. The fastener I would like to make out of bone and leather cord. Thinking if I go with the strap, weave some leather into a strap. I dont know how to do it but the better half does :yakyak: Thanks for any advice.
