I've used CCI for many years, but actually I have tried some others now and then....and can't really see any difference in performance or accuracy.

Without running the risk of getting political, I too would advise buy what you can, where you can?

I pretty much have an adequate supply of most brands already mentioned.

As to your original question? I really don’t have a go to brand.

Very rare that I have, or had a FTF due to the caps ?

Again, at this point of the game, buy what you can if you’re in a position to do so my friend.

Definitely need caps to shoot a percussion gun.

Respectfully, Cowboy

When I shot caplocks..I tried several common brands. FWIW: RWS was my first choice. NO question.

Remington #10 are the ones that fit and work the best, using aftermarket nipples, on my c&b revolvers. However since Remingtons ammunition division has been bought out by Vista Outdoors I'm not sure if they'll continue to manufacture their caps since they already own the CCI brand. So I got some RWS 1075 plus caps from Midwayusa.com that I'm going to try later this week. I do use CCI#11 magnum caps for my rifles, which work fine, but they often required two strikes with the revolvers hammer to fire. Forum members have posted that the RWS 1075 caps work great with oem nipples and are good with aftermarket nipples except Slix-Shot's.

Get what ever fits the nipples. If the caps are a tad too big, you can always pinch them before you put them on and they should work just fine.
