I went to Bass Pro yesterday and bought 300 of each #11 and #10 for less than $9.00 a tin. The do not however have any small pistol, small rifle, large pistol, or large rifle primers. They said just keep checking back.
DL:dunno:

I live in Columbus, GA. Today, on our day off, we went over to Macon, GA, about 80 miles to the East to the Bass Pro Shops, there. They had many #11 caps in stock. I picked up another 500. You can’t have too many caps, flints or powder. I am very set with flints and powder.
I agree with this statement. A man has to be able to hunt. Especially here in the remote appalachias

Went to town today to look for a box of modern for a friend. Went to five (5) places and the shelves were barren (read non-existent) of stuff.

If this is any indication of what is coming for caps I would be getting a supply PDQ it may be a very long time before you are able to get any, even with ordering them over the internet.
im going cap buying today, ill let you guys know what i find

Well, after reading the panic, I went out to look for myself.
My local shop (20 miles) is hunting and fishing. Not much for muzzleloaders, but a fairly consistent supplier of caps. They did not let me down. CCI, Winchester, magnums, winged, #10, #11...... They had so many magnums they were falling off the peg board display. Regulars at 5.99, magnum at 6.99 .
I only have one cap gun, the rest are flint. The cap gun gets shot 75-100 times a year. Its my hunting gun and I want to make sure it stays dead on. I bought 8 years worth of caps so I don't have to think about it again. ;)

I fear we are living in a time that, as unpopular a view as it may be, we need to start being more prepper minded.
Not saying a hoarder but whatever you usually use in a year you should keep double that on hand cause you never know when the next shipment will be in.

My wife cant find the big packs of regular Hersey bars right now due to the warmer weather and people making smores. At least that is what the rumor is.

FDF, I agree. A few weeks before the election I decided to stock up on unmentionable ammo. Even the dealers that knew me by name only had reloads of the most popular calibers or were only selling ammo with a firearms purchase. I did stock up on muzzleloading supplies. I think now that Joe is in, I’m going to be getting all I can afford.
Better get a double barreled shotgun. No better excuse to pick up that gorgeous MLing shotgun you've been drooling over! A couple tons shot, powder and caps is needed to feed it.

Sportsmans Warehouse here in Yuma has about everything needed but real black powder. They never have had it. I looked on graf & son yesterday and they had several kinds of black powder available.
