I read in a TC muzzleloading booklet that "caplocks will always have more pressure than flintlocks." It seems you have put some numbers to that statement.
You know, I have a chronograph around here somewhere.....

You bring up a good question. Just how much difference, in pressure, is there in 40 to 50 fps?

I read a long time ago that shooting 5 to 10 grains more BP fired in a flintlock would closely match the velocity of a cap lock shooting the same ball weight in the same barrel length.
