I'm looking for a northwest trader's pattern #141 which is the caped style ( no hood).
uncut or cut no smaller than a size 48. Just checking to see if anyone has this before I buy a new one.

North west traders offers several patterns, one the ‘old trapper’ is taken from a capote in the museum of man in Ottawa Canada cr 1810
Most capotes in the old days were tailored and fairly well fitted. The great coat pattern offered by Reconstructing History can be adapted, you leave off pockets and cuffs.
Eighteenth century capotes were a little higher than the knee, nineteenth about knee length.
The boxy reservation style that’s seen at so many rendezvous is very easy to make, accepted but not real historic

I've made several capotes in the past but not like this one, I'm. getting ready to. It's a gold on gold HB and the caped portion is covered with cinnamon bear hide.

I like the idea of bread hide on cape. I've been contemplating the same thing, except my capture is "Lachine" deep red with narrow black strips, and my bear hide is black. Plz post pic of your bear caped capote when finished.!

will do.

This is the combo of the two colors which I think will work out well.

Nice!!! That’s going to look really cool, definitely show us the finished product! I wish I had a spare pattern but I don’t, if you don’t have any luck getting one from a member, I seen Dixie gun works sells the northwest traders pattern.

Thank you, and I will. I went ahead and ordered the pattern, so I'll close this add down tomorrow.
