Hi Folks,

Gearing up to make stuff this year. Debating on building a small forge so I can temper metal. Got a few knife designs I'd like to try.

But anyway, I read about folks losing their thumbs to exploding caps setting off the main charge.

Not really a fan of being plasma cut, I found deficiencies in my old capper I made. Namely, no shield or the thumb but the thumb being helpful in firmly seating a cap.

This is my solution:

Dunno. Maybe call it a button capper? I've never seen one like this before.

Just thought I'd share.

Nice work. I make my leather cappers sraight line with the caps feeding from slots in the side. The strip holding the caps fits between two outer strips preventing the open end of the cap being exposed to rain or snow. :hmm:

Have you tried caping with it yet, It looks like it will be cumbersome. Maybe little hard to reach the nipple.

I use one of them german silver thingies that hold about 40 or fifty caps and I never press down the cap with my thumb or hammer . :nono:

Hello,

I've tried capping with it, yes.

The piece of leather on top pushes down on the cap. I push down on the sewn part, which is there as a landmark and why I didn't make glue to hold it together instead.

It does fit just fine on both a T/C and a Jukar CVA.

From the picture I thought there might be little guess work involved. Glad to hear it works fine. Thanks.
Twice.
