Took my Woodsrunner in .54 to the range today to sight it in. It’s snowing and cold. 100gr of FFF3. 2” high of bullseye at 50 yards. Must be a fluke right? Next shot touching the same hole. Third, fourth and fifth shots opened the group up a couple inches but consistently 2” high. Set a target at 75. Centered of the group perfectly at bullseye. No filing. No drifting. Nada.
I used calipers to mechanically center the front and rear sights in the dovetails. So I’m sure that helped. There’s no unburned powder in the snow in front of the gun and my patches are perfectly intact. This was the zero I wanted. I was pretty amazed.
