Does anybody know where to buy any #11 or musket caps online? I can't believe they're being hoarded.

I’d be happy to help look for some online or close to you. Where is your general location in Colorado? Last time I checked here in Utah Scheels had them in stock but you had to pick them in store.

I've found quite a few entities selling caps online - but every one of them require store pickup.

I'm guessing that they don't want to get into hazmat shipping.

If you have a. “Big R” they list #10’s as in stock but on instore pick up. I would check the location before I went there.
hope this helps. Still looking for 11’s

I live in a small town. No shops here. The closes gun shop is in Salida and they're sold out of all primers, caps and powder.

Sportsman is store pickup only but none are close anyway. I've got a Jeep with big mud tires and try not to drive on highways. It eats up the tires and they're not cheap to buy. So, I buy everything online. Normally, that's not a problem but covid has changed everything.

Thanks guys.

Just need to be vigilant, they come and go because inventory was wiped out. Kinda like setting up a vaccine appt. online. You gotta be there at the right time and hope your order gets in before the next guy's.

The last time there was a run on caps I stopped at a local hardware store. They had plenty left from deer season. I bought a box (ten tins) and the next day my nephew bought another box, leaving the rest for others.

I just found some musket caps at Bass Pro and ordered them. The order went through, so i'm good now. Easy enough to get a musket nipple.

Thanks guys.

I'm not saying it happens but some people see a situation and try to take advantage of it. Some people by primers or even caps so they can turn around and double the price for a profit. We have examples in posts of on line sales.

It’s not about crime prevention.
It’s about the shipping and possessing ammunition components. Particularly black powder. And any kind of primers.
Also, some of the powers that be make no distinction between BP guns and modern types, the same as many states do.
