I saw a photo of a carving knife in a post on another board. I played around with the shape and put this together from a piece of old file and some scrap oak molding. I left a lttle extra shank on it to have some room to attach a Lansky to it, then I have stropped it to a very sharp edge. This really works well in the field and tight spots.

Looks sharp! both in looks and the edge. Will this be used for leather, wood carving, or just a general small utility knife?

Here is the picture that I copied it from. It was designed with wood carving in mind. Of course my carving isn't up to this class...yet. :rotf:

That photo is from a pair of swivel breech rifles being made by David Price, who so graciously photgraphed for builders on another web site,Anyone could learn and improve their design and execution of their carving from these photos... a very telented man............George F.
