has anyone had any luck with making .32 rb? i see that lee offers a mold for .311 and .319. i heard that .32 is too small to get good results with making your own and to just use buckshot for economy sake.any ideas

I know many are going to say, "just buy buckshot", supposidly cheaper and easier. But buckshot are not pure lead. Somewhat harder and lighter weight. I cast .315 round balls all the time, (in fact need to cast some this weekend), with a lyman single mold. It is no problem to cast perfect balls in .32. Just get the mold up to temperature as with any other size ball. Doesn't take much lead either since the ball is so small. Hope this helps, Jim.

where did you find the .315 mold I didn't see it listed in Lyman I jsut got a Thompson center Cherokee in .32 and it calls for a .315 ball.

I use the Lee mould without any problems.I use wheel wt. for making buckshot with it.

Make all my own with a lee .311, no problem. One thing about the .32 you get a lot of balls from one ladle. I make all mine from .32,no .40 up to .54. Have enought lead to retire me. Dilly

I just got a lee mould in 60 cal is it as easy as following the direction in the mould package, and does the single or double cavity mould yield better results?

I use an old .311 double cavity Lyman mold that works great. This mold has to be up to temp to work properly as it will dimple the tops if it is too cool.

I have a Lee .308 round ball mould that I use for making buckshot. I have found it more difficult to cast a good ball than with a larger diameter ball but it still casts a good one if I do my part. That means getting the mould up to the correct temp and controlling the flow into the mould.
