Has anyone ever been to the Rendezvous by Chadron Nebraska? This is where the Museum of the Fur Trade is. We were at the Museum last year' even joined, it is a great place especially if you like trade guns. Any way got invited to the Rendezvous they sent us a flier and we are planing on going it is July 10-13. Would like to hear from anyone who has been there and can tell me about their experence.

Haven't been to the Rendevous there, but you're right about the museum being great. I've been a member since I first went there in 1978, even though I got out of buckskinning for over 20 years. Their publications are fantastic and full of great info.

Were back from Chadron, so I thought I would give a little report about the Rendezvous. It is located in a lovely area, but would recommend a 4 wheel drive if you are pulling a trailer. The water is from a spring and is just great. You are down in a valley and the camps are not to crowded as you set up through the valley. A lot of shoots and activities. Of course a trip to The Museum Of The Fur Trade is a must. I was supprised at how many States were reprepsented there,I had kind of figured our 12 hour drive would be one of the longest but it wasn't. We had fun and then went on down to Ft. Collins to see the grandkids before comming home. I will have pictures on our groups web page http://home.att.net/~wordet but it will be a couple of months as the Rendezvous go on in the order we attend them.

Sounds like a good time there. Maybe I can make it next year with my old lady, she hasn't been to a long rendevous yet. Take care and looking forward to the pictures, just put a reminder on when the pictures are posted.

The pictures are on our groups web page at http://home.att.net/~wordet would have had more but one of the rolls was bad. Don't know if was in the canister or the processing but the one roll had bad static electricity lines through it.

No Powder, Glad you had a good time at our yearly rendezvous. We're not huge, but I understand from our winter meeting (Feb. '04, at the Fur Trade Museum) we had 61 campsites last year. This years Rendezvous should be July 8, 9, 10, 11, 2004. You should get a flyer when they come out confirming these dates. Hope to see you there.

Rollingb,,,pleased to hear you and the family had a good time at the Chadron Rendezvous. There's no good way to tell sad news, we lost "Red" on Christmas day this past year. He had a mountain man's funeral and was sent off not only with a salute from the Honor Guard, but a volly from his fellow buckskinners. He was truly one of the finest men that my family and I have ever known.

Ohio Joe,.... Wow!!.. What can I say, 'cept the news of "Red's" pass'n has left me speechless and with a heart-felt sadness thet all of us share at the loss of a "true friend"!!

I feel honored to have known "Red" while he was with us, and to have shared a campfire with him!!

Sorry to hear about Red. Only met him once at the Chadron Rendezvous last year. He was a gentleman, and easy to get along with. We hit it off well and I would send flatlanders over to his digs to see the "basement". We had a lot of fun with that especially with the kids. Red mark the trail were all a coming some day.
