I finally got to go out today and try out my '58 Target model Remmy after chamfering the ends of the chambers to take the sharp edge off. I must say it loads easier. Accuracy is as good or better than it was before. The first shots i fired were using some of the homecast Lee conicals that Blizzard of '93 sent me. I loaded them over a 42 gr equiv load of Pyrodex P, no wad, and lube in the grease grooves. In the pic, that is the group on the left. The very first shot i didn't know where they might hit since i had never fired any of them before, and it was low and left. After that though the nest 5 are in that group which is just over 1" and was fired at 20 yds resting over the hood of my Bronco II. I then cleaned the barrel and loaded 6 home cast rd balls over the same powder charge and an Ox Yoke pre-lubed Wonder Wad. I use CCI #11 magnum caps since that is all i have. As you can see that group isn't too bad either. I really think chamfering the chambers helped. To do it i just used a cone shaped grinding wheel that fit in the mouth and turned it by hand until i got a beveled edge on each chamber. I am also including a pic of the cylinder with a nipple with a 1" piece of small surgical tubing over the cone. That is the easiest way i have found to re-install the nipples on a revolver. You grip the tubing and turn the nipple ion with it. Works good and you don't have to fight with the tight space or worry about stipping a nipple hole by cross threading it.
