I'm about to start my first real longrifle build.
Can I inlet a round faced English lock into a large Siler or L&C Classic mortice? The round faced lock is slighly larger and tracings show it should work. My concern is the trigger sear and if it would hurt removing the wood inside the mortice to acomidate it?

The stock is the 44"bbl American Classic from TOTW in plain maple.

I hav a gun with that same stock and i put a chambers virginia lock in it with no problems.

I did the same, except I had to use an L&R Queen Ann round face. The TOW stock was inletted for the L&R Classic, and the Chambers Queen Ann was much narrower in the front extention. The L&R Queen Ann just barely fit with no gap. Everything worked out fine, and I am soon going to repeat this on another.

I used an L&R Queen Anne in a Jacob Dubbs smooth rifle kit I got from Mold and Gun shop. The stock was inlet for the large Siler originally. It worked out quite well.

Thank you all. Thats what I was wanting to know. :hatsoff:
