I've been eye ballin' one of these, which is made in Spain. It has a Lyman tang sight and front sight, overall very good condition. Is value any different than that of other Spanish imports? How are they as shooters?

I have a Charles Daly/Invest Arms Hawken .45 cal "made in Italy for Charles Daly" stamped in the top of the barrel. It has 12 lands and grooves rifeling. Mine shoots as good as any of the Thompson Center I have. I think they are better quality than most of the spanish rifles, but not quite as good as the Thompson Center. Comparable to Cabellas Hawken.

My buddy has a 50 cal..It shoots GREAT! I had a 45 it was a nice rifle as well. I would say they're comparable in accuracy as the T/C. However the brass and finish of the stock suffers in comparison to the T/C Hawken..at least thats been my experience.

Lock & triggers felt good, bore looked excellent, stock was glossy with some surface scratches. Would $250.00 with the Lyman sights be a decent price?

I've handled a couple, and both were Italian rather than Spanish. And the overall quality was excellent from all appearances. Both were 54 cal, and if I didn't already have too many 54's of other makes I likely would have bought them at a little lower price. One was $350 and the other was $400 with standard sights. At $250 I would have been a proud new owner, even without the Lyman sights added in.

My local gun store just sold a Charles daily "Hawken" style for 100$ out the door (didn't get a chance to inspect it too well). I just missed it. Around here you can find descent deals on traditional BP rifles..so I would say that 250 for a Charles Daily is high..but that's just me. Others opinions may vary.
