IN 1985 I bought a Charleville kit from Dixie Gun Works. It was well made and went together with little trouble. The Musket shot well and I used it turkey hunting. Thing is I never liked it. Around 1988 I got the idea to use the barrel and furniture to restock it as an english style fowler, something a small time gunsmith might have done if he came into the parts. I used a different lock for this. The project was a success, I really like the fowler version and it shoots great. I put the original Charleville lock away and never used it for anything except some show and tell stuff. Anyway it is obvious I will never use it so here it is for sale. The lock is well made and sparks great but I have no idea who made it. I am asking $125.00 for the lock.
