I just picked up two pounds of FF Goex this afternoon from a favorite gun shop. Man, was I shocked when Darrel told me it was $20.00 a pound!!! :shocked2: It had been a long time since I bought BP. I still have the empty can of the first pound I ever bought. Cost me $7.00. Ah, for the good ol days!

I order from Powder Inc. It seems that at the time, I had found another supplier that was slightly cheaper, but after receiving such good service from Powder Inc., the difference didn't matter.

I just emailed J&J Pyrotechnics in Moscow Pa a Goex dealer 35 miles from me. The guys I shoot with and I am going to move fast on this a stock up. Boon

Black powder picked up would be $ 11.15 / lb plus 6% sales tax.

I have only one lb cans in stock; bulk sporting is special order, because i do not have a large demand for bulk.

I've ordered a few cases of Goex from Bonnie over the years...hard to beat a case price delivered to your front porch

Graff & Sons have their own 'house brand' of wano schutenzen (sp) that goes for about $11.95 /lb with only a *5* lb minimum and you can mix grades and even get goex + graff.

i have tried it and could not tell you the difference between the two.

comes in a black plastic (non-static) container and they do pay shipping *but* charge $4 handling and insurance with the $20 hazmat for 1 package regardless of quantity.. shipping is by fedex.

also, i saw an offer several months ago of $70 shipping if you could buy 100 lbs. - no per can charge.. incredible ! now if only i could find a place to keep it...

I bought my last case from Clarksville Gun and Rod; their prices and Powder Inc are pretty comparable. Do a search and you will find links; there is quite a difference in price between some of them. I meant to order another case before Oct 1st as the price was gonna go up, but procrastinated. You can't beat having the powder delivered to your front door, no travel time, gas, etc., and the price per pound is WAAAAY cheaper than a retail seller, (if you can find one).

Boondocker,

What's the email address of J&J Pyro in Moscow, PA? I emailed them a while back and never received a reply. Now I'm not sure I had the correct email address.

I live over in the western part of PA but would be willing to drive to their place (I-80 all the way) if necessary.

Thanks,

Dryball
