I just listed Lyman Great Plains Rifle and it does have a cheekpiece. Wood is nice. I'm not sure what you're asking when you say 'plain'. I read that GPR has better fit and finish than Trade rifle. But I guess people have different opinions.
 
I've got a lefry GPR flint already & it fits fine!

I was looking at the Trade Rifle & the Pedersoli at a couple of places that have sale prices. Being these are right hand locks & I shoot lefthanded, I was just wondering about the shape of the stock - my RH Deerstalker doesn't have a raised cheekpiece, so it's easier to fire lefthanded.
