I an getting results with 70grs 3f pyrodex. I don't want to over do it. What do you think?

Call me a party pooper or a stick in the mud but if I owned that gun I would reduce the powder load to 55 or 60 grains max.

A 60 grain powder load was very common during for rifled muskets during the War Between the States and it has more than enough power to do any job you might want to do.
