If you are using a cloth patch, it should be damp. The damp patch will clean the bore on loading. Fouling is captured between the powder and the ball.Should I use a dry patch or wet it with something?
PĺToday I shot my Pedersoli Brown Bess at 50 yards for the first time. Up until now I stuck to 25 yards. I was shooting a patched 69 cal RB under 80gr of 1.5 swiss. My first shot was great. My second shot was okay, but went down hill fast after that. Should I be cleaning the barrel between shots? I'm trying to find a good load for deer hunting

How do I do that?Polish the bore
A little valve grinding paste, or any polishing paste on a patch, and then ran up and down the barrelHow do I do that?
How will I know when its polished enough?A little valve grinding paste, or any polishing paste on a patch, and then ran up and down the barrel
Or if you have a worm a wad of steel wool, or greeny pad
Go all the way to the breach and all the way out each pass
When you push a tight patch on a jag slowly down the bore , very slow, and you don’t feel a drag anywhereHow will I know when its polished enough?
