Since I started using Ballistol as my patch lubricant, I have not needed to swab between shots. But at the end of a shooting session before I head home, I swab the bore with a 1:10 mixture of Ballistol in water. It does a dandy job of getting the bore clean but I still do a thorough cleaning with soap and water when I get home. I use the Ballistol in water mixture at the range because, even when I run a dry patch through the bore after the Ballistol mixture, the the mixture seems to leave a light protective coating of Ballistol in the bore to protect from rust until I can get home and do a proper soap and water cleaning and run some Barricade through the bore for final protection before putting it in my humidity controlled gun safe. It's what works for me.

Bill,
Just curious do you dilute the ballistol when using as patch lube,or use straight?
