A Bone handled folding knife and a powder measure "picked up" a pinkish hue in spots from the inside red lining of my shooting bag.

I've had so many "surprise" chemical reactions from things in the past when trying to remedy things I figured I'd first run it by the brotherhood here to see if anybody has any experience with such before diving in and trying to clean them up.

I know it sounds like a simpleton's question, but like I said, I've had many unexpected (read:bad) results from simple combinations of thingsinthe past.

Any help is appreciated.

Many if not most original bone handles had some kind of oil/wax finish to keep them from so easily absorbing stains.

I would suggest cleaning the handle with denatured/isopropyl alcohol or Acetone and then giving it a coat of clear oil/varnish so it does not happen again.

If that don't work try a little 600 grit sand paper . Should look like new in a few strokes. :hatsoff:
