A little help please. I once purchased some round 2 inch cotton cleaning patches from an online ML shop. I believe they are cotton but not your regular weave. I have a part number ML 877, but can't locate the supplier. Does anybody know who uses a number like that? ML 877
Thanks, Bald Baron

Don't know about ML877, but from your description, it sounds like the patches I use. Round, 2" textured, cotton weave. They are U.S. Arsenal Patches. Leisure Time Marketing (215) 355 4111.

If you can't find the cleaning patches you are looking for you might want to try some "Southern Bloomers". I think that they hold up better than anything that I have used so far...Jim

I use red cotton flannel from the fabric store. Its does a good job, and costs waaaaaay less than pre cut "cleaning patches".

I agree...I've used Southern Bloomer's patches for years...$10/1000...4 bags or more gets free shipping.

Caution: I DO NOT use what they call their "Muzzleloader Patches"...actually returned the shipment because they were made out of polyester instead of cotton and did not do well, didn't hold liquid well, etc.

I've used their item #'s 123 and 125 for years:
One is a 2"x2" square I use for .45/.50cals
The other is a 2.5" square I use for .54/.58cals

For .62 & .12ga, I usually have enough old T-shirts and Mama's flannel nightgowns/PJ's to always have enough large 3" patches

I love flannel, I buy two or three yards at a time and cut it into 1" x 2" patches, I do prefer the lighter colors though, so that if there is the slightest bit of dirt it will show up.

I do also. My wife works at a church owned thift shop. Every once in a while they get flannel fabric remnants. The store will usually throw those out if they are under a yard. She brings them home for cleaning patches. She brought home something that looks like quilt batting just to see how it would do.

It worked great. I usually use a couple of patches of it to get the major crud out and use it for the final lube. It's kind of flimsy so cannot be washed and reused. She also brought home something that looks like baby blanket materiel that also works well and holds together better than the batting.
