I’m in MD, my son in AZ, they dont do DST. Sometimes 2 hours behind, sometimes 3 hours behind. Get dam tired of him calling waking me up a 7pm or 8pm.

The part that bothers me the most is doing what the TV news tells me:
Set your alarm for 2 am to set your clock back to 1 am… forget you did that an hour ago then repeat until sunup…
I never do seem to get that extra hour of sleep

There is a current bill in congress that would end this stupid time change and keep us on DST, there was a similar bill last year that died in committee, hopefully this one would fare much better.
Current bill in Congress?.....they can't even catch up with a multitude of past bills or their own confusion! I wish you correct...but wishful thinking. Hope I am incorrect.

There's about 4 or 5 states that don't change time. WHEN is Pa. going to be one of them??
NO ONE has wanted this for 40 years. EVERY year the Gov. says we're going to stop it. I have YET to see THAT happen!
I used to feel like a ground hog? Get up in the dark, go to work in the dark, come home in the dark! Even retired it "ain't no better."
It takes me about 4 months to get my internal clock straightened out to the point where I can actually function without falling asleep at 2:00 in the afternoon?
I say "if it ain't broke don't mess with it." You don't need to fix something that works! But leave it to the Gov. to try? My rant fer the day.

Well actually in 1970 era congress passed a law dropping time switch. It turned out to be hated so much it was dropped before the two year test span ran out. Besides it was opposed by business people, they liked it cause workers had more light to go home in they might stop and buy items but not so much in the dark! Senator Rubio has a bill passed in senate stalled in the house to stop the switching!
Was in high school when we kept DST through winter. (1973-74.,)
As I remember it, a huge factor in NOT repeating it was that we had a freakin' BLOODBATH nationwide in terms of schoolkids being hit in the dark , either walking/riding bikes to school, or waitng at bus stops. The sun did not rise until the end of my second class each morning. At class change after first period, the sky was still pitch-black. Had been in school an hour and a half before legal shooting light (1/2 hour before sunrise here in Florida.)
DST was intended strictly for summertime, in an agricultural setting.

Had a bunch of Boy Scouts in the woods camping this weekend. Plan was for the cooks to wake at 6am and start the fires. Cause they’d be getting up when it was 7 the day before due to DST. So this morning I heard this....ok cooks wake up, get out of the tents...start the fires..then 15 min later...you dummy, it’s fall. We set the clocks back... I was supposed to get an extra hour of sleep and instead I get an hour less...

I rolled over in the hammock, snickerd and went back to sleep.

Here is another issue where the few control the many! SAD BUT TRUE.
