The photos are not showing the shape quite as it really is. I had the knife in my hands Sunday, and it IS coffin shaped.

Well, tell us why Levi's is not a coffin handle. In your opinion. I'd really like to know.

It is not a coffin shape. Sorta close but no brass ring.
I see a lot of variations out there. Since when are coffins curved on the sides?

Not knowing any better I would have to say that this is a very well done piece that oddly enough is faceted, and on the one end strangely enough looks like a coffin.

Very Well Done

:hatsoff:

I'm by no means pooping on this weapon, this is a slick, professional piece of work. However, as a knifemaker and knife-fighting trainer, this is not by definition a "coffin" Bowie. There is the pronounced coffin-shape historians define that is missing here, also coffin Bowies did now have the pommel piece. The faceting is there to concentrate the kinetic energy in a facial-neck blow. Beautiful knife

Bones

I forgot to add that I also like the little extra touch of having the coffin handle shape imprinted on the top of the sheath...nice.

Lonehunter, I am always amazed with your work. You take knife making to an almost god like fashon :haha:
I admire all of your works :hatsoff:

James, See what is meant by, "You can just swing a dead cat by it's tail and your bound to hit an expert!"

No offense meant here..

I was always told that the definition of an expert is this..
an "ex" is a has been and a "spurt" is a drip under pressure...

You guys are killing me!! I work around this reprobate one or two days a week. He already can't find a hat that fits his head. :idunno: :shake:

Let these men speak!
Sounds like words of wisdom to me.
:hmm: Not the first time you have called me a reprobate. If I had feelings I would think you were trying to hurt them. :haha:
